He was a man of quiet strength—charismatic yet reserved, handsome, practical, and deeply loved by those who knew him. Troy and his bride, Melba, shared 72 years of marriage, providing a lasting example of love, devotion, and what a healthy marriage looks like to their children and family.
Though his life began in Alabama, Troy’s Air Force career took him and his family across the country. He spent nearly 30 years living in California before returning home to Alabama, where he settled into retirement in Pinson.
Troy had a lifelong love of cars and spent countless hours researching them up until his final days. He especially enjoyed rebuilding 1960s Mustangs and was deeply passionate about his collection. He was also an avid golfer who enjoyed the game and the time it allowed him outdoors.
